Mint Julep

2 tsp (10 ml) confectioner’s (powdered) sugar
3 to 4 sprigs of fresh mint
Shaved ice
2 to 3 oz (60-90 ml) Bourbon

Put the sugar and the mint sprigs in the bottom of a tall glass. Add a splash of
water
and, using a muddler or a wooden spoon, crush the mint leaves in the bottom of
the glass
and dissolve the sugar in the water. Fill the glass almost to the top with
tightly packed
crushed ice. Add the bourbon and mix with a spoon, using an up and down motion
to mix the
bourbon and sugar water. Serve immediately or store in the freezer. Garnish with
a sprig
of fresh mint. Makes 1 drink.
